Today we are busy celebrating Little Madam’s 2nd birthday. “Birthday cake!” she trills and “I am two!” All very exciting stuff.

Yesterday’s sketch got a slide guitar-style solo (without using a slide) and has been named “The Bruinenberg Technique” after the fellow who suggested the lead guitar style. Thanks Fred!!!
The Missus said: “This angry, aggressive album you are recording…not very aggressive, is it? In fact it is positively mellow…”
Cakewalk Sonar 8.5 has been released today. Huzzah! More software updates for me to waste my cash on. The Missus doesn’t need to know…
The trick is to stop thinking…
Online pal Fred reckoned that yesterday’s sketch required some slide guitar, but my glass slide only ever sounded any good when I used it with the Epiphone Black Beauty I sold a few years back, so instead I used a patch on my VG-99 that sounded a little ethereal like a slide guitar. Then I named the song in Fred’s honour as he helped me finish the tune.
Not sure where this sketch is going. The bass is doing all the work with the delay guitar providing an interesting rhythmic counterpoint but it lacks definition. I could exist “as is” but personally I think it needs a little more spice.

I threatened to post this two years ago, but events conspired against me. Here we see the Locks in action fighting the good fight in the name of pastry-based desserts…

Sucking High-Def video via Firewire onto my PC before I sell my HDV video camera is a soul-destroying, yet necessary process…
