Shhh…It’s a Secret

This is an entertaining website:

I don’t think I have any secrets. Ask me a question and I’ll tell no lies. 🙂

A Doctor a Day Keeps the Apple Away

A little bit miserable about missing the Tortoise gig last night, but I guess that’s life for you. I don’t mind missing concerts if I am sitting out in the sun, getting lightly toasted on cider, but to be ill…that’s just beyond the pale. I’m feeling a bit better today, but I am still having stomach pains. The Missus says: “Go to the doctor”, but I am a man and I’ll only seek medical attention when they find me passed out on the floor. Am I right or am I right, fellas? 🙂
On a lighter note, managed to flog some more copies of Sows’ Ears & Silk Purses and “Without Words”. The title to the follow-up 4-CD boxset is going to be: “The Good Shit”…unless I can think of a better title, that is!

Guts Ache, No Tortoise & Bruford

Stomach is still sore. Not quite recovered from a day of intense pain yesterday. Oh woe is me! 🙂 The sad thing is that it looks as if I won’t be making the Tortoise gig tonight. It all depends on whether or not The Missus can flog the tix. If she can’t, I’m going to dose myself up on tablets and head over there. That will be fun.
In the post recently: a genuine VHS copy of “Bruford & the Beat”. I won this on eBay ages ago, but the cheap-ass vendor took my $11 for postage and then decided to send the tape via ground mail, so it took forever. He was supposed to send it AIRMAIL. Oh well, at least it arrived, I guess.

Cramped Up

Pain and suffering. Very bad stomach cramp that I’ve not had for a long, long while. I ate a bowl of Shredded Wheat yesterday and I am thinking that I might have a wheat intolerance because on previous occasions when I’ve had these cramps I’ve been on the Hoegaarden beer (which is white wheat beer). Are these two events linked? Who knows…

Oh Boyo…

Jones the Voice bares all…

More Jetlag and Porcupine Tree

Me and the Missus are still suffering the effects of jetlag. What world travelling wimps we are…
In the post: Porcupine Tree – Deadwing LTD Edition

Even More Star Wars

Today, I saw “Revenge of the Sith”. Being a Star Wars fan (but not one of those fans who dress up as their favourite character or name their children Greedo) I have been looking forward to this film since George Lucas first announced the new trilogy. OK – I admit it. I enjoyed the previous two films too, but I saw them for what they were: pieces of entertainment aimed primarily at seven year olds. This time around it was different and Lucas made a film for the old people. It was a nasty, dark descent into Hell with lots of severed limbs and heads thrown into the mix. I enjoyed it a lot and when the two little infants were handed over to their respected adopted parents and the opening strains of the original Star Wars theme began to play, there was a little drop of moisture gathered in my eyes. It was the air conditioning, I tell you. The AIR-CONDITIONING! Good fun, but not for the kiddiwinks…
