It is my great pleasure to introduce to you Herbie James Lock who was born today 29th September 2009 at roughly 10.15am. Weighing in at a respectable 8lbs 6oz, the little darling pee’d on the surgeon and then the midwife. That’s my boy!
For those of you who want to know why “Herbie” – I used to love those films featuring the white Volkswagon Beetle made by Walt Disney and the name also has a strong musical heritage: Herb Alpert, Herbie Hancock and Herbie Flowers. Derived from the Germanic “Herbert” (Come here, you little
Herbert – when I am angry with him) the name means illustrious strong warrior.
And my dream of him was spot on.
He is brilliant!
