Oh Darren, I feel your pain.
Although the packaging was far from lifeless the very existence of this album has more than a whiff of “I need to get some sales through the door to pay off my bloodsucking ex-wife” about it.
Much in the same way that John Cleese does his shows to pay off his divorce settlements, but at least he has the decency to call it his “Alimony Tour”.
I was sorely tempted to purchase the basic double disc autographed version but I am glad I didn’t now… will it soothe your rippled prog brow to know you have saved some other punter from making a mug of himself? I don’t know.
But having viewed Gonad Sylvan murdering Watcher of the Skies I can firmly say that I shall steer clear and perhaps invest in one of Mr Hackett’s other albums that I have otherwise given shrift to but which you recently pointed up as worthy of closer inspection.
Keep up the good work. I hope your bank balance recovers soon.
One star… it’s shameful.
